Ballast Water Survey

In order to prevent harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens that may be carried by ballast water and sediments from international navigation ships from causing damage to the ecological environment and human health of the waters, member States of the International Maritime Organization jointly formulated the 2004 Convention on the Control and Management of Ballast Water and Sediments on International Ships, which entered into force on September 8, 2017.

IHM is a regulated document that locates and quantifies hazardous material, and it could pose a risk to the health and safety of people or to the environment.Example of Hazardous Materials:Asbestos、Ozone Depleting Substances、PCB、PFOS、Heavy Metals(Cd、Lead、Hg、Pb)etc.

The Inventory of hazardous materials was developed from the concept of a "green passport" in the Convention. Although the two are basically the same in nature.
